Tech3 KTM Factory Racing continues straight to Misano
Just a few days after a very strong race by Iker Lecuona at the MotorLand Aragón circuit, the Spanish youngster is already impatiently waiting to arrive at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli this weekend in order to begin round 14 of the 2021 MotoGP World Championship season. Thereby, Lecuona aims to pick up where he left off, gradually improving and finding his way towards the top of the premier class field.
For Danilo Petrucci, the Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini marks a home round. Therefore, the ambitious Italian targets likewise to carry on with his improvements aboard the KTM RC16 and is motivated and hopeful to show a decent performance in front of the local crowd. As usual, the action kicks off at 9.55 local time on Friday with Free Practice one.

“I expect a lot in Misano. Last year I did two very fast races there, although it was my rookie year. For these final five rounds this season I feel very good. I have a lot of confidence with the bike, with my team and also with myself. I think we can keep the same level and even do this small step in order to fight closer to the top.”
Danilo Petrucci
“Finally, it’s another home race for me and last year KTM performed well in Misano. We are in a good shape, not perfect, but maybe we are less penalized by the long straights at this circuit. It’s the first of two rounds in Misano and I definitely want to be fast there. We feel good, but we still have to improve our Qualifying position and have to try to stay closer to the front guys. I want to score as many points as possible.”

“Just a couple of days in between the Aragón Grand Prix and the Misano race. There is no time to think, we just travel from the center of Spain to the Adriatic coast. Clearly, Aragón was a positive week and we head to Misano, where Miguel and Iker have been very fast last year and there is no reason for us not to be competitive there.”
“Iker is on a very good run at the moment. He is positive, he is pushing and improving every weekend. I’m sure he’s eager to do even better than what he did last week in Aragón. It’s going to be a home race for Danilo, which will be very important. I believe he likes the track, so we just can’t wait to start FP1 on Friday to see where we stand. Hopefully we’ll have another exciting and strong weekend there.”
