Bradl on the pace in Misano wildcard return

Honda HRC Test Rider Stefan Bradl was immediately on the pace as he rejoined the MotoGP World Championship grid for the second time as a wildcard in 2021, his fourth appearance of the year. The German rider set the eighth fastest time of the day overall during the first moments of Free Practice 1, before the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli was hit by rain showers for the remainder of the day. A 1’33.047 put Bradl 0.381s back from the fastest rider of the day and left him just 0.023s off MotoGP World Championship leader Fabio Quartararo’s best time.

Bradl and the entire Honda HRC Test Team are pleased with their opening day and are eager to show their speed, and the speed of the Honda RC213V, over the remaining two days of the Misano Grand Prix.

Bradl on the pace in Misano wildcard return

Stefan Bradl 6, Rider – MotoGP: “I am happy with the first day, it’s great to be in the top ten. In the wet in the afternoon, it wasn’t easy to understand everything with the track, so we need to understand a bit better if it’s wet. Overall, I am happy with how we have started, we have Free Practice 3 to come – this is what will really count if it’s dry because everyone will push for a fast time. There’s still some testing to do, which got a bit delayed with the rain but we can do it tomorrow. Let’s keep enjoying the weekend and extracting our maximum.”
