Álex Márquez relishing return to Aragon

Álex Márquez will look to maintain his encouraging recent form as the MotoGP field heads to one of his favourites stop-offs on the calendar. The LCR Honda CASTROL rider will find himself back on home soil this weekend and cannot wait to get back in the saddle at MotorLand Aragón where he is targeting another top-10 finish.

The Spaniard has been rejuvenated since the summer break with three consecutive top-10s, including an excellent eighth at Silverstone last time out, despite starting from 17th on the grid. With confidence high, Álex is looking for another big performance at a venue where where he has made the podium on four occasions in the lower classes, as well as in his rookie MotoGP season last year.

“We Spanish riders are very fortunate to have four GPs at home and Aragon is my favourite track of all. The layout really fits our bike and also my style. The objective is to be in the top ten, to continue the progress we’ve made at the last few races after the summer break. At Silverstone we were in good shape and with good confidence, which is the main thing for me. Last year we had two good weekends at Aragon, but that doesn’t mean things will be easy this time.

We need to stay focused and pay attention to find the right set-up and the right tyres, because it’s really important to control tyre consumption at this track. I’m really motivated to start the weekend and to feel the fans in the grandstands!” – Álex Márquez
